Email reminders from Companies House

You can sign up for the email reminders with Companies House for your limited company or limited liability partnership (LLP). The email reminders service is to tell you when to submit your company accounts or confirmation statement.

Email reminders proved to be more effective than paper reminders from Companies House.

Paper reminders only work when you can have access to your mails sent to your registered office and you open it on time and act promptly.

We have helped many businesses to restore their companies. They were struck off the register because of non-filing of either their company accounts or confirmation statement.

The common reason was that they did not receive reminders letters from Companies House. Because they forgot to notify Companies House of their new registered office address after they moved to a new office. Understandably, moving office can be stressful and lots to sort out but this event is not an acceptable excuse to miss your company’s filings.

Many of us have at least one email account that we checked regularly. It is very easy to sign up for the email reminders with Companies House.

Companies House filings during COVID-19 pandemic

Companies House also gear up to support UK companies during COVID-19 pandemic. They automatically extend your company’s filing deadline. This will help you to avoid a late filing penalty if you are unable to deliver your company accounts on time during this pandemic. You do not need to do anything. You just need to go to Companies House website to check your new filing deadline.

On the same note, your confirmation statement filing deadline will also be extended. You would have 6 weeks to file your confirmation statement. Likewise, for the events driven filings, you will have 42 days (6 weeks) to notify Companies House instead of the usual 14 days filing deadline.

In addition, Companies House also created an interim paperless filing service to accept documents which would normally require a live signature.

You are encouraged to submit your documents to Companies House digitally. You can use the online web filing service to file the following documents to Companies House.
