Restrict disclosure of your personal information

You can apply to Restrict disclosure of your personal information if you are at risk because of the industry or sector your business is in or were involved.

You can apply to restrict disclosure of your personal information if you are a company director or a person with significant control (PSC) or a person registering a charge.

Furs trade

For example, if your business is involved furs brokerage and it is licensed under the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. you can apply to Companies House to Restrict disclosure of your personal information. For example, your home address to be removed from the Companies House register and not shared with credit reference agencies due to risk of violence or intimidation.

At present, many countries have banned furs trade due to concern with animals cruelty. According to The Fur Free Alliance, with more than 50 animal protection organisations worldwide, the following countries have joined to ban furs trade or farming.

How to get the relevant forms?

You must the Secure Register Team at Companies House. You can download the SR01 form from the Companies House website. All other forms, you just call Companies House, they will advise you about the process and give you the relevant (coloured paper) forms. You must only use the coloured paper forms provided by Companies House.

File documents with Companies House securely

Companies House will provide an ID number for an individual PSC. You must use this ID number when communicate with Companies House after your protection is granted.

Also, if you are a director or a PSC and your home address is protected, you must tick the section 243 or section 790ZF protection box on each document you are filing.
