A limited company must update your company secretary’s details if there have been any changes in his/her personal particulars. For a person secretary, a change in home address, service address, or surname must be registered with Companies House.
Similarly, if there is a change in your corporate secretary’s registered office this information must be communicated with the Registrar of Companies.

Appointment of a company secretary for a public limited company is compulsory and the person must have the required experience and academic qualifications in order to fill the position.
With effect from 6 April 2008, the appointment of a company secretary for a private limited company is optional. The person taking on the responsibility as your company secretary is not required to have the minimum qualification.
